園内はかなり広く、1日楽しむことができます。ライオンバスに乗ってライオンの餌やりを身近に見ることができたり、オラウータンの綱渡りを見ることができたり、動物たちの習性や行動を身近に観察できます。昆虫園前には大きなバッタのモニュメントもあり、乗って写真を撮ることもできました。とても大きいので、虫が大好きな子どもは大興奮すること間違いありません。
園内は広いので、シャトルバスも走っています。坂も多いので、小さいお子さんを連れて行く場合はベビーカーや抱っこ紐などを持参されると移動が多少は楽かなと思います。軽食の売店はいくつかありますが、お土産の売店は園入り口に1つしかありません。動物のフィギュアやぬいぐるみなどの定番のお土産から、ジャコウ猫の糞のコーヒーなど変わったお土産まであり、選ぶのも楽しかったです。
園内は新しくなった所と古い所が混在しているため、マップを持って移動をするとわかりやすいです。園内に案内表示はありますが、表示を見て象を見に向かっていたはずが古い使われていない象舎に行ってしまいました。遠足の季節になると、都内や近県の小学生や幼稚園児たちが遠足に訪れていました。家族でとても楽しめる場所だと思います。
また、園内にはワークショップやエンターテイメントショーも開催されており、子供たちは楽しめるイベントも豊富です。さらに、特別な日にはイルミネーションや季節ごとのイベントも開催され、家族での思い出作りにぴったりです。ぜひ公園内の各施設やイベントのスケジュールをチェックして、家族で楽しい時間を過ごしてみてください。
お出かけする際の注意点
園の駐車場の入り口がわかりにくかった。
坂が多いので、小さい子を連れて行く場合はベビーカーや抱っこ紐があるといい。
現在は鳥インフルエンザの影響により展示を控えているエリアもあるようです。
